SHARING EXPERIENCES AT HOLLAND COLLEGE

Fresh Media Inc. owner, Melody Dover was invited to share the experience of becoming an entrepreneur with Holland College Graphic Design, Interactive Multimedia and Photography students December 8th. Being an alumni of the Graphic Design and Interactive Multimedia programs was an additional incentive to share with the students and stoke their own inspiration for success.

BRANDING - LUNCH & LEARN PRESENTATION

The subject of the day was "Creating a Positive Company Image" through consistent branding. The 45 minute presentation touched on the following subjects.

As the winner of the 2005 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award for PEI, Melody has been fortunate enough to have gained national exposure. As a result of winning this prestigious award, she has been interviewed by Breakfast Television of Calgary's City TV, profiled by the Globe and Mail, as well as great coverage by the local media and the Business Development Bank of Canada.

Fresh Media Inc. is proud to have been a part of a wonderful cause that turned into a greater success.

The "Swim the Strait" fundraising event by Kristin Roe ended up raising over $23,000, with all funds being donated to AIDS PEI and the Stephen Lewis Foundation to assist in research and raising awreness of AIDS.

THE GUILD LAUNCH

Fresh Media Inc. was honored to be a part of the launch for the new and imrpoved Arts Guild facility in Charlottetown. We are proud to have been the creative source behind the new brand identity for "The Guild". Working with the Ars Longa Inc. board we have created a logo, an image and an identity that will represent the building for years to come.

Fresh Media Inc. has kindly assisted Campbell Webster Entertainment with the development of a web page to promote the World Premiere of Anne and Gilbert ~ A Love Story. This new Island Musical is making its debut at the Victoria Playhouse July 29th. It will be a show like no other in a venue distinct to PEI. INVITED TO SPEAK

Melody was invited to speak at the Entrepreneurship and Business Skills Development Practitioners Forum at Saint Mary's University, Halifax. This event brought a wide mix of national and Atlantic Canadian business experts to the region to discuss best practices in a variety of entrepreneurship, management, and business development topics. This event was b y invitation only.

BDC YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR NOMINEE

Melody has been nominated for the 2005 PEI BDC Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. A special thanks goes to Judy Clair, of Scotiabank, for nominating Melody and Fresh Media Inc.

GAIN PILOT PROGRAM A SUCCESS

Selected from many candidates to be one of seven female business owners to take part in the pilot GAIN program, Melody recently completed the program and it was a huge success. The GAIN program was a joint partnership between the PEI Business Women's Association, ACOA, PEI Business Development and managed by MRSB. The ultimate goal of the GAIN Program was for women business owners to accelerate growth and enhance their competitiveness. Melody benefited greatly from this program by taking part in one-on-one consultations, business mentoring, industry lead themed sessions, training and professional development courses.
