SAGE is a Prince Edward Island grassroots volunteer organization whose members are survivors of child sexual abuse. They are a registered non-profit charitable organization with a focus on community education and prevention, as well as an advocate and supporter of survivors.
The current focus of the SAGE initiative is "Beyond Silence! The Voice of Child Sexual Abuse". Beyond Silence is a collection of stories by twelve Island women capturing their experiences of child sexual abuse, and their collective wisdom on how to prevent it. Created with contributions of adult survivors, Beyond Silence has the potential to dramatically change the way communities respond to child sexual abuse. These twelve stories will be compiled into a book, translated to a stage production, DVD, and workshop series, with the goal to empower other adult survivors to educate people, and to prevent child sexual abuse. Through fundraising efforts, and donations, SAGE hopes to be able to achieve this goal.
